Step 1: Rust Base Coat
• Use PUKACO Rust Brush to evenly apply Rust Paint on the entire surface. Spray a mist of water on the thick Rust Paint layer to thin it, making it easier to spread and control the texture. This can help achieve a smoother, more consistent, and coherent base. Allow dry completely.
Step 2: Rust Activation
• Apply a small amount of PUKACO Rust Paint with a brush while simultaneously spraying Rust Magic PUKACO, diluted with water at a 2:1 ratio. Rust Magic PUKACO activates oxidation, transforming the Rust Paint base into a finished layer resembling rust. Ensure coordinated brushing and spraying, enhancing adhesion and creating a seamless rust effect.
Step 3: Inhibition - Brown Rust Activation
• When the rusting process is 1/3 complete, and the rust color is still dark, apply inhibition to achieve the desired brown rust color. Use a water spray bottle and a damp brush (without paint) to create water mist on the surface. Repeat this process when 1/3 of the rusting process has occurred, enhancing the inhibition. This crucial step contributes to a realistic and aesthetically pleasing rust finish with a brown tone.
Step 4: Brown Rust Lock
• Once satisfied with the rust effect, apply one to two coats of PUKACO Gel, diluted with water at a 1:1 ratio. This protects the finished Rust Paint layer, creating a protective barrier against environmental factors, moisture, improving surface durability, resisting abrasion, scratches, and other damages. Importantly, PUKACO Gel inhibits oxidation, minimizing the risk of rust or discoloration on adjacent materials’ surfaces. The 1:1 ratio allows controlled dilution without significant alteration to the external appearance, ensuring the rust color remains close to
the original tone.
